Every year since 2006, Australians have come together to recognise White Balloon Day for the purpose of Breaking the Silence on child sexual assault and protecting kids.
Friday September 8th marks the 21st anniversary of Bravehearts’ White Balloon Day and we hope YOU will join us by hosting an event or organising an activity to mark this very important day on the child protection calendar.
Whether you wish to recognise the day with a small gesture of support, or go all out and arrange a fundraising event, there is a way for you to show you care about protecting Aussie kids.
By fundraising for White Balloon Day, you are helping to ensure that child survivors get the specialist counselling they need and preventative education is provided to Australian kids.
There are several ways you can raise funds, ranging from hosting a small morning tea among friends, to planning something bigger such as a special White Balloon Day luncheon or dinner. There are also many simple fundraising activities you can choose from, if you prefer to keep things simple.
Once you have registered, Bravehearts will send you a White Balloon Day event pack that includes posters, decorations and a donation box to get you started with your preparations. Click on the link below for fundraising event and activity ideas to get you inspired!FUNDRAISING EVENT & ACTIVITY IDEAS
Want to raise funds for the prevention of child sexual assault but don’t have the time or energy to host a fundraising event? Then fundraise online! It takes less than 5 minutes to set up your own fundraising page and once you’ve done so, you can personalise it, adding your own story and photos to help generate more donations.
With your own online fundraising page you can harness the power of social media to solicit donations and raise awareness about White Balloon Day and why the cause matters to you.GUIDE TO FUNDRAISING ONLINE
Another great way to support White Balloon Day this year is by entering our VIRTUAL BALLOON RACE! The race will be launched at the start of Child Protection Week, Monday 4th September, from the steps of Parliament House in Canberra and raise funds for the prevention of child sexual assault.
