GET INVOLVED
BUSINESSES, ORGANISATIONS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

Businesses both big and small, organisations, local and federal government, councils, law enforcement, community groups, church groups, sporting clubs and many other types of organisations across Australia lend their voice each year to ‘Break the Silence’ on child sexual assault and recognise this important day on the child protection calendar.

To mark the 21st year of White Balloon Day, we have a range of activities, listed below, for your business or organisation to get involved in.

Support from businesses and organisations is vital to the success of White Balloon Day, which is why your involvement this year is more important than ever. Whether you wish to mark the day with a small gesture of support, or go all out and arrange a fundraiser, there is a way for your business or organisation to show you care about the protection of Aussie kids.

Fundraise to Protect Kids

By fundraising for White Balloon Day, you are ensuring that survivors get specialist counselling and preventative education is provided to Australian kids.

There are several ways you can raise funds in your workplace, community group or club. You can arrange a simple gold coin collection, host a morning tea or special White Balloon Day lunch, or hold a sausage sizzle.

Once you register your involvement, Bravehearts will send you a White Balloon Day event pack that includes posters, decorations and a donation box to get you started with your preparations. Click on the link below for more fundraising activity ideas for Businesses, community groups and organisations.

Virtual Balloon Race

Another great way to get your business or organisation involved in White Balloon Day this year is entering our VIRTUAL BALLOON RACE! The race will be launched at the start of Child Protection Week, Monday 4th September, from the steps of Parliament House in Canberra and raise funds for the prevention of child sexual assault.

Chalk Art Competition

This year Bravehearts is holding a National art competition, asking our supporters to create chalk art murals to enter into our White Balloon Day Chalk Art Competition.

We would love to see YOUR COMMUNITY GROUP create their own chalk mural! There are no limits to what you create, but it must have the theme of white balloons. This is an excellent activity especially for groups such as churches and clubs, as it allows for active involvement from the children and young people in your community.

HOW TO ENTER

Other Ways to Recognise White Balloon Day

  • Creating a canvas or mural of hand-prints from the children in your community group.
  • Making a display of white pinwheels in a local garden.
  • Holding a ‘wish paper’ lighting ceremony in honour of survivors of child sexual assault.
  • Lighting a white candle in solidarity for survivors of child sexual assault and holding a minute’s silence.
