One of the easiest things you can do to help protect Aussie kids from child sexual assault is fundraise online. When you register to fundraise you will automatically get your very own Online Fundraising Page that your friends, workmates and family can use to make quick and easy donations.
All the funds you raise will go towards counselling, preventative education and research, as well help fund our essential lobbying and advocacy on behalf of child sexual assault survivors (for more information on how your donation dollars will make a difference, please GO HERE).
When you register your online fundraiser you will automatically get your very own online fundraising page. This fundraising page can be personalised to reflect the things that are important to you (i.e. why you are raising funds for child protection and what the cause means to you.) You can also add your own photos and post updates on your page and share it across your social media channels. We have provided you with lots of promotional resources to help you raise awareness about protecting kids and promote your fundraiser. We also have a great White Balloon Day MESSAGING GUIDE that gives you instructions on how to compose emails and social media posts to get more donations to your fundraising page.
Yes, you can, but we would prefer that you don’t do it this way. Why? Because when you fundraise via Facebook they do not provide the charity (ie Bravehearts) with any information about each individual person who donations to your Facebook fundraiser. This means we have no way of thanking the people who donated, or communicating with them about the important work we do. It also means that their donation will appear as ‘Facebook’ on their bank statement, rather than getting a tax receipt from Bravehearts. So to cut a long story short, yes you can raise funds for Bravehearts via a Facebook Fundraiser, but it’s far better for Bravehearts AND the donors if you do your fundraising via the online fundraising platform we have suggested.
