Sunsuper superstars pack and stack

23 Jun 2016

Sunsuper has come to the 20th annual White Balloon Day early with 17 amazing volunteers dedicating their time and efforts to pack merchandise boxes to be sent to schools, businesses and children’s champions right around the country.

More than 140 boxes were packed, thousands of balloons counted and packaged and around 400 fundraising kits were also assembled recently at White Balloon Day HQ on the Gold Coast.

The Sunsuper staff commit to a chosen cause as part of their corporate volunteering policy, which encourages staff to take up one fully paid volunteering day per year.

Sunsuper Senior Employer Service Officer Esther Vao, discovered Bravehearts on the Queensland volunteers’ website and wanted to help the work it does in the community.

“Every year we do it and the staff who participated just loved it. I had a lovely comment from Lea who said it was her first time ever volunteering. She said felt so good afterwards for helping out a charity.

“One of the many comments that I think really makes our volunteer days special is that it feels good assisting an organisation in any way we can and it always feels awesome to get a mountain of packages done.

“Thanks to Bravehearts for a wonderful day and we hope White Balloon Day turns out fantastic for its 20th year.”
