GET INVOLVED
SCHOOLS AND CHILDCARE CENTRES

School and childcare communities have always played an integral role in White Balloon Day. Over the past 21 years, teachers, parents, grandparents, staff and kids all over Australia have come together annually to recognise this important day on the child protection calendar.

CHALK ART PROJECT

This year Bravehearts is once again coordinating a nation-wide Chalk Art Project, asking our supporters to create chalk art murals with a White Balloon Day theme.

We want to see YOUR SCHOOL or CHILDCARE CENTRE create the best chalk mural! There are no limits to what you create, but we would love to see your whole school community involved. > CHECK OUT LAST YEAR’S SUBMISSIONS.

OTHER CREATIVE IDEAS

Here are some simple, yet creative ways your school or childcare centre could mark White Balloon Day this year.

  • Give each child in your school or childcare centre a length white ribbon to tie to the front gates of the school to mark White Balloon Day on Friday the 7th
  • Involve the children in making white pinwheels as a craft activity. On White Balloon Day, set up the finished pinwheels in the school garden or front lawn.
  • Have the children cut out a white balloon template on paper or cardboard and on that draw a portrait of themselves. Decorate the classroom/office walls with the finished artwork OR string up together to create bunting to display on White Balloon Day.
  • Create white balloons and hearts on your school paths, or grassed oval, using white flour and cut-out templates.
